Inspirational Quotes And My Thoughts On Them

Quotes are words of opinion, wisdom, advice or suggestions that's are usually given by a known and famous individual like celebrities or politicians. These quotes (especially quotes that relate to inspirational) gives its reader a timely morale boost and in turn pushes them ever closer towards their desired targetes and goals.

As per dictionary the word inspiration means "The Process Of Being Mentally Stimulated To Do Or Feel Something, Especially To Do Something Creative". So it can be established that inspirational quotes aspire us to achieve something (more often than not through our creative capabilities).

Quotes have become a important part of internet ecosystem, and are widely shared all popular social media platforms and get millions upon millions of likes, comments and shares. Inspirational Quotations are just a small and miniscule part of this equation.

"Thoughts are an important aspect to humanity, as it allows us time to process ideas and to reflect on decisions. Indeed, it is perhaps the case that managers, leaders, bosses, and entrepreneurs, undervalue the importance of quiet time. Successful entrepreneurs always have a positive outlook and are usually inspired by successful thoughts and verbatim. We even see individuals, especially sports people, engaging in chanting words or phrases, which empower them to success. Time is at a premium to most nowadays, so inspirational quotes bridge the gap between availability of time and the need for swift words to motivate success".

In this blog, I'll state and tell my opinion on such five quotes that aspire readers to do creative endeavours like paintings, writing a book, songwriting or any other inspirational work. I'll talk about the individual who's been quoted as saying, and I'll state my opinion.

¹ ) Quote 1 - Stop Procrastination

There's no need to introduce 'Charles Dickens' to anyone who knows remotely knows anything about the history of English language, anyhow, he's considered by most literary scholars to be one of the most important writer, social critic and reformist of victorian era. He through his fictional stories and incredible characterization has had foremost impact modern English psychic and wherever people speak this language.

The authors childhood was appaling by our modern standards shaped by his loneliness and isolation. He despite this managed to overcome his odds through sheer will power. The below quote is essentially about what will power can be used to achieve.

“The most important thing in life is to stop saying ‘I wish’ and start saying ‘I will’. Consider nothing impossible then treat possibilities as probabilities.”

-Charles Dickens

Well, there's nothing in this quote that can be disagree with. Sucess is more about the mindset and perception of a person than being a difficult unattainable material thing, you only succeed when you have of succeeding or atleast have this mind that's its a probability that you can succeed in achieving your goals.

There's a famous saying that I'm thinking that fits here, it goes something like this 'A Journey of A Thousand Miles begins With A Single Step", you only succeed and get somewhere if you plan ahead and take the first step.

²) Quote 2 - Don't Be Afraid Of Failure

The below quotes from Michael Jordan, arguably, greatest basketball player of all time. He's considered a legend of sports by almost everyone.

He's quoting here how much failure he has seen and gone through to achieve sucese and greatness that he has now.

"I’ve missed more than 9000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. 26 times I’ve been trusted to take the game winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life. And that is why I succeed".

- Michael Jordan

Well, there's no virtually nothing to dispute in this quote apart from fact perosnal dedication plays a huge role in sucess determination rather than fear of failure.
And keeping in mind, feeling afraid of failure is a real human emotion that is entailed in centuries of sociocultural pressures and expectations. You can be afraid of falling but that's no excuse for not trying and giving it your all.

"A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new".

– Albert Einstein

“The most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity.”

- Amelia Earhart

All things considered, you only do a mistake when your entering out of your comfort zone and trying something new, always keep in this mind that's its absolutely normal to have a failure for few times even after trying but that's no excuse for giving up on your life dreams and wishes.

³) Quote 3 - Learn To Take Risk

Mark Twain was a American writer Best known for his humour and short stories.
He's been regarded as one of the most important and impactful writers that America has ever produced. Apart from being a great writer, humorist he was a big social critic of his age.

The below quotes from one of his writing where he's emphasising the importance of taking risks, and how not taking them hurts you and only you in the long run.

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails.  Explore, Dream, Discover".

– Mark Twain

I wholeheartedly agree here with a great man's words. It's only possible to have memorable experience in when you're ready and are able to break the shackles of your own mental prison I.e getting out of your comfort zone and mundane routine.

“You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore.”

- Christopher Columbus

"Don't be too timid and squeamish about your actions. All life is an experiment. The more experiments you make the better".

- Ralph Waldo Emerson, Journals of Ralph

No one in the entire history of humanity has achieved or gotten done anything of subsequent value just by sitting and idle thinking. In the end, You'll only regret the steps you did to take.

⁴) Quote 4 - Take Control By Owning Up To Your Decisions

Stephen Covey was a American life coach guru who's was a certified lifestyle, relationship and career mentor. His books have over the decades have gained a cultural following among the populace.

The quote below is about owning up to your previous life decision, as these are what in essence make you whatever you are now, other precive you with results of these decisions in mind.

"I am not a product of my circumstances. I am a product of my decisions".

– Stephen Covey

If you've no serious money related issues and are living life of a average lower middle class joe, I completely agree with the quote but if you are living in poverty especially living in generational poverty, I completely disagree with this quote. Only systematic change in economic system can change such people's fortune not their own life decisions or actions.

Because people who are living in generational poverty, this mantra of self actualization looses all merits and falls onto its head. There are millions upon millions of people on this people, who despite their efforts and decision making, they cannot leave their circumstances.

"People…were poor not because they were stupid or lazy. They worked all day long, doing complex physical tasks. They were poor because the financial institution in the country did not help them widen their economic base.”

— Muhammad Yunus, Author

For most people living in cycle an
of generational poverty, circumstances don't change much if even they want then to change.

5) Quote 5 - Rebilious Nature

There's
something rebilious about innovation. Perhaps, only people who innovate are the ones who think out of the box and don't comply to normal societal rules. Henry Ford was one such man, he was a American Industrialist, Business Megnate, and a cheif developer who pioneered and perfected the assembly line process thus revolutionizing the Car Manufacturing Industry.

Below quote is perhaps his way giving advice to young people who tend to quit quickly because of various reasons chiefly among these is usually their own 'lack of self-confidence and patience'.

"When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it".

–Henry Ford

In most cases (especially for those are in creative endeavours or doing something that's not out there in the world yet) this quote holds true. Indeed very few people have created a masterpiece or work of extraordinary proportions in first try, most, if not fail and fail before they are credited for their extraordinary capabilities.

Folks like Franz Kafka and Friedrich Nietzsche, are really good examples for this phenomenon, these both were often ignored if not criticised for their works and personalities but after thier passing both were hailed as greats of their respective fields of literature and philosophy. Though there are exemptions like, Sigmund Freud, but for majority of the cases this doesn't simply happen.
